Are you susceptible to fraud? by John Walczak, CPA, CFE
-
Recently the IRS warned about a phishing scheme where someone posing as a representative of the Internal Revenue Service sends an unsolicited email about a tax refund that you are owed.
Note that the IRS will never communicate with a taxpayer via email.
The email is an attempt to steal your social security number. Do not answer it.
Do you have any questions about whether you or your business is susceptible to fraud schemes? Please feel free to ask them here.

2008 Tax Season Charities
-
During tax season at Brock, Schechter & Polakoff, LLP, we hold a jeans day each week and all firm employees participate through donations. At the beginning of the year, we asked our employees to submit the names of charities they were interested in supporting. Each week, all of our firm members give a donation to each of these outstanding organizations. On average we have raised about $150 for each charity.
