John Walczak, Principal, has recently been named a board member and Treasurer of the West Seneca Soccer Club. The Organization is a 501(c)3 nonprofit whose mission is: training, development, continuing education and advancement of promising young individuals in the sport of soccer while emphasizing sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal responsibility through a fun and rewarding experience.
John has been with the firm for over twenty-five years and has tax, audit and accounting responsibilities for many clients. His specialty areas include fraud examinations, oil and gas taxation, retirement and 401(k) plan audits, business valuations, and financial forecasts. He is also a QuickBooks advisor
Congratulations to Peter Ruocco, Principal, for graduating from the 2016 Leadership Buffalo Rising Leaders Class. Leadership Buffalo’s Rising Leaders is a year-long program that runs from January through December each year. The program is designed for individuals from local corporations and organizations who are up and coming in their careers. Key issues and topics are explored throughout the program year providing an in-depth view to the critical issues facing our community by meeting, engaging and developing long-standing relationships with other emerging leaders from broad backgrounds.
Peter has been with the firm for over seven years. He has experience in both tax and audit engagements. Some of his areas of focus include international tax, real estate, multi-state businesses, and retirement plans. Peter is the Treasurer of the Board of Directors of Buffalo Shamrocks Hockey Club, Inc.
Congratulations to Crystal (CJ) Van Note, In-Charge Senior Accountant, for achieving the Toastmasters Competent Communicator Award! The Competent Communicator Award is obtained after successfully completing ten speeches in the Toastmasters educational track. CJ is a member of The Larkin Leaders Toastmasters group located in the Larkin Building. The mission of Toastmasters is to empower individuals to become more effective communicators and leaders.
CJ specializes in individual and partnership taxation and estates and trusts. She is active on the boards of Family Promise of WNY and Dog Ears Bookstore. CJ is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of CPAs.
