Wealth Management Assistant

Located in the Larkin District, BS&P Wealth Management is looking for a financial administrative assistant with at least three to five years’ experience in admin support relating to investment and insurance products to join our rapidly growing and energetic firm.  You will have the responsibility for processing new business, general marketing and administrative duties as well as direct contact with clients. This position has the opportunity to grow into an advisor role.

 


 

Essential job functions:

·         Prepare files for new applications.

·         Administer and schedule client meetings.

·         Maintenance of daily blotter and client files.

·         Service compliance related activities and assistance in preparing client reviews and proposals.

Requirements:

Minimum of three to five years’ experience in administrative support relating to investment and insurance products

Series 7 and 65 Preferred

Familiarity with Host applications including DST Vision and Streetscape

Proficient with MS Office including Word, Excel and Outlook

Ability to write clearly, read and interpret written information, present ideas effectively, document activities and work with individuals with various needs while adhering to the firm’s policies and procedures

Staff Accountant

0 – 2 years experience

At BS&P, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of assignments. After a few years of experience, we will work with you to determine which department you will enjoy working in as well as what area you would like to become an expert in.


 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Conduct audit and accounting engagements for a wide range of industries
  • Prepare financial statements for profit and not-for-profit organizations
  • Prepare income tax returns for individuals, partnerships and corporations
  • Assistance with the discovery process for accounting fraud investigations Perform technical research as needed
Requirements:

Five year Advanced Accounting Degree or Masters Degree in Accounting achieved before first day of employment with BS&P

Must have the necessary requirements to become licensed as a CPA. Accounting, auditing or taxation experience a plus, but not required

Spring Semester Junior Internship

No experience required; dates of employ 2/1-4/15

For students in their junior year of a five year accounting program, we offer a unique opportunity. You are able to develop your own work schedule of around 20 hours per week and receive an attractive hourly wage while having the opportunity to gain experience working for a public accounting firm.

As an intern in our taxation department, you will be able to gain an understanding of individual income tax forms and work as an integral part of our return preparation process from February to April. During your internship we will introduce you to our firm culture, people and practices. You will work closely with a Firm Manager that will provide continuous feedback to you.


Essential Job Functions:
Engagements for Junior Interns in our Tax Department where you will be able to gain an understanding of income tax return forms and processes.

Requirements:

Applicants must be in their junior year of study working towards a five year Advanced Accounting Degree or Masters Degree which gives necessary requirements to become licensed as a CPA

All students must be in good academic standing

Accounting, auditing or taxation experience a plus, but not required

Available 20 hours per week from February through April

Spring Semester Senior Internship

No experience required; dates of employ 2/1-4/15

We offer a unique opportunity for students in their senior year of study working towards a 5 year Advanced Accounting Degree or Masters Degree, who upon completion are eligible to become licensed as a CPA. You are able to develop your own work schedule of 15 to 20 hours per week and receive an attractive hourly wage while gaining real experience.

As an intern for our tax department, you will receive comprehensive training on our paperless office system before preparing individual tax returns from January to April. You will work closely with a Manager that will provide continuous feedback and personalized training to you. You will also have a professional “big brother or sister”. Your BS&P big brother/sister will be a Staff Accountant who also participated in our internship program while they were completing their accounting degree. They will share their experiences with you and help you become a confident member of our firm.


Essential Job Functions:

Engagements for Interns in the Tax Department include the preparation of individual tax returns.

Requirements:

Applicants must be in their senior year of study working towards a five year Advanced Accounting Degree or Masters Degree which gives necessary requirements to become licensed as a CPA

All students must be in good academic standing

Accounting, auditing or taxation experience a plus, but not required

Available 15 to 20 hours per week from mid-January until April 15

Experienced Accountant

At least 2 years experience

Essential Job Functions:

Assume full responsibility for engagements including preparing and monitoring of programs and time budgets that are tailored specifically to the needs of each client.
Review and analyze client internal control

Requirements:

Must have at least two years experience in either public or private accounting.

Bachelor degree or higher in accounting.

CPA preferred. If not certified, must work toward receiving CPA certification.

Summer Internship

No experience required For students in their senior year of a five year accounting program, we offer a unique internship opportunity. You are able to develop your own work schedule of approximately 20 hours per week and receive an attractive hourly wage while having the opportunity to prepare audit work papers and simple tax returns working for a public accounting firm located in the up-and-coming Larkin District.


Essential Job Functions:

Engagements for Summer Interns include preparing audit work papers and preparing simple tax returns.

Requirements:

Applicants must be in their senior year of study working towards a five year Advanced Accounting Degree or Masters Degree which gives necessary requirements to become licensed as a CPA

All students must be in good academic standing

Accounting, auditing or taxation experience a plus, but not required

Available 15 to 20 hours per week from June - August
